About COFFED

As goes a saying United we stand divided we fall, more than one crore is a huge number but our fisherman community was suffering and there was no hope for them. Exploitation channels were making all the money and the hard working community was not getting the dividends and they were getting pushed to the corner.

COFFED that is Co-operative Fisheries Federation/ The Bihar State Co-operative Fishers Federation Ltd was formed with the sole purpose of uniting the community, help them with everything from problem related to fisheries, to disputes over water bodies to education for their child and providing them insurance. We at COFFED look at each and every aspect of the life of a fisherman community and work towards improving their way of life.

Federation believes in the philosophy of ?Help yourself by helping others?. Its all about the feeling of togetherness and unity at COFFED. We are here to give the fisherman community a sense of belongingness, a purpose to come under one umbrella and take the fisherman community and the fisheries in Bihar and Jharkhand to new heights.

We are deemed registered under The Multi-State Co-operative Society Act, 2002. Earlier we were registered under The Bihar Co-operative Society Act, 1935 (Bihar Act 6, 2013), with registration number.-19-HQ-R-06 (Dt.:26.04.2006).

Since the formation in such a short duration we have achieved phenomenal results and we don't want to really talk about it the results are visible in their home; the results are there to be seen at their kids faces. Sky is not the limit for us, we look way beyond that
